Mountain Man
The Mountain Man was designed by my friend Josh Vandenbrink of Iron Mountain Designs. Josh spent 14 years as an Air Force Pararesueman and wanted the Mountain Man to be a compact cutting tool that could also be used for prying and light breaching duty, should the need arise. Corrosion resistance was also of paramount importance. Josh owns the original Vanrod prototype (the pattern is named in his honor), which I made in N690 steel. He has put this knife through its paces and was impressed enough with the steel's performance that we decided to use it for this Mountain Man as well, albeit in much thicker stock to better suit this knife's intended purpose.
